As Senior UX Designer on Azure Static Web Apps, I was tasked with shaping the end-to-end experience for a new hosting solution within Azure’s cloud platform. The challenge wasn’t just designing an interface — it was defining how developers would first engage with the product and how Azure could guide them toward adoption of related services.

Note: Some of these features are not public yet so this description is very minimal

Our team recognized a critical adoption barrier: users struggled to understand how Static Web Apps related to other Azure services. This gap not only slowed onboarding but also limited cross-service engagement — a missed opportunity for growth.

Business Goals

  • Increase adoption of Azure services linked to Static Web Apps.

  • Strengthen the value proposition of Static Web Apps within the Azure ecosystem.

Design Goals

  • Make onboarding intuitive, even for developers new to Azure.

  • Reduce friction in the setup process to improve completion rates.

  • Reinforce trust by aligning with familiar Azure design standards.

Process

Kickoff

I facilitated workshops to define the business problem, align success criteria, and build a shared understanding of the user journey. These sessions surfaced critical pain points and clarified the role of Static Web Apps in the broader Azure platform.

Hypothesis

If we reduce complexity in setup and highlight the value of related services within the flow, then adoption of both Static Web Apps and complementary Azure services will increase.

My Approach

Led design workshops to map user journeys and surface edge cases.

  1. Created wireframes and prototypes to validate onboarding improvements.

  2. Partnered with engineers to ensure technical feasibility while maintaining usability.

  3. Iterated quickly based on internal feedback and usability validation.

Pending Results

Although these designs have not yet been released, this project demonstrates how I bring strategic thinking, design leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to transform ambiguous business goals into clear, actionable user experiences.
